BENEFIT-C Trial Summary

This trial will test if offering financial incentives to primary care patients to get colorectal cancer screening increases completion rates. It will also look at if incentives for colorectal cancer screening and other vaccines increases completion of all three.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for individuals aged 45 to 75 who receive care at a participating primary care clinic and are due for colorectal cancer screening. They must be able to understand and speak English.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study tests if financial incentives can increase the rate of colorectal cancer screenings, flu shots, and COVID-19 vaccinations. Participants will either get an incentive for just the vaccines or both the vaccines and the cancer screening.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
There are no direct medical side effects from participating in this trial as it involves financial incentives rather than medical treatments.

Study Objectives

Difference in proportion of participants completing colorectal cancer screening between study arms
Secondary outcome measures
Difference in proportion of participants completing COVID-19 shot between study arms
Difference in proportion of participants completing all three services between study arms: colorectal cancer screening, COVID-19 shot, flu shot
Difference in proportion of participants completing at least one of the following services between study arms: colorectal cancer screening, COVID-19 shot, flu shot
