This trial will test if fruit and veggie prescription vouchers and a cooking skills program can improve diet quality, food access, and caregiver mental health.
Who is the study for?
This trial is for households with at least one child aged 2 to 5 years, experiencing food insecurity or low-income status, particularly if the child is overweight or obese. Caregivers and children with medical conditions that significantly affect diet or eating habits cannot participate.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study tests whether providing fruit and vegetable prescription vouchers (FVRx) along with a cooking skills program called Home Plate can improve dietary quality, increase food security, enhance feelings about home/community food environments, and benefit caregiver mental health.See study design

Since this trial involves dietary interventions and educational programs rather than medications, there are no direct side effects like those associated with drugs. However, changes in diet may cause temporary digestive adjustments.
